The Amore-Albay Operation Compassion story began in the aftermath of Typhoon Reming, which devastated the Albay province in the Bicol Region. In response, Amore launched a purpose-driven initiative to rebuild and relocate the affected communities to safer areas, partnering with the government, the private sectors and other organizations to ensure a comprehensive recovery effort. Guided by a community development approach, Amore focused on empowering residents, helping them to rebuild not only homes but also livelihoods and psychosocial initiatives. Through collaborative efforts, the community was equipped to become self-sustaining and resilient, fostering a renewed sense of security and hope for a stable future

After Typhoon Ondoy struck NCR, especially Marikina City, Operation Compassion Philippines (OCP) played a crucial role in supporting affected communities, particularly in Tumana and Nangka. In collaboration with partners and the government, OCP facilitated the relocation of these residents to safer areas in Sta. Rosa and Biñan, Laguna. OCP assisted in rebuilding a sustainable community by providing essential support in water and sanitation infrastructure, launching livelihood projects, and organizing psychosocial activities to aid in residents’ recovery and well-being. This comprehensive approach helped ensure the relocated families had the resources and support to rebuild their lives in a safer environment.

Operation Compassion played an important role in the aftermath of Typhoon Sendong, which struck Northern Mindanao—especially impacting Iligan and Cagayan de Oro—on December 16, 2011. Partnering with government agencies, the organization supported the relocation of internally displaced people (IDPs) to safer areas and provided critical aid through medical missions, feeding programs, and psychosocial interventions within the camps. In collaboration with faith-based organizations, Operation Compassion also established the KEDRN initiative, a disaster response network aimed at offering sustained support to affected communities.

After Typhoon Pablo struck Compostela Valley, Operation Compassion launched a program to help affected families combat hunger by teaching sustainable vegetable gardening. By promoting a soil-friendly planting sequence, the initiative enables families to grow food year-round. It also emphasizes organic farming practices and values formation. This program serves as a foundation for a future livelihood project in small-scale farming. During that time, Operation Compassion has implemented the initiative in four temporary shelters, assisting 229 families across various sites, including indigenous Mandaya communities, to build resilience and self-sufficiency.

After Typhoon Yolanda devastated Tacloban City and surrounding areas, Operation Compassion Philippines (OCP) stepped in to support government efforts by building temporary shelters for displaced residents. As the government prepared permanent relocation sites, OCPsheltered the internally displaced communities through its ready-made temporary shelters. OCP also adopted the municipality of Mayorga, Leyte, focusing on comprehensive community rehabilitation. They helped rebuild houses, repaired school buildings, and provided livelihood support for farmers and fisherfolk. Through the iRebuild program, OCP organized and registered various sectoral associations with the government, fostering community capacity-building and ensuring the associations became functional and self-sustaining.

After Typhoons Rolly and Ulysses devastated Catanduanes, Operation Compassion Philippines (OCP) still focused the momentum in supporting the community\'s recovery even in the middle of community quarantine due to COVID-19 pandemic. In coordination with thelocal government, OCP provided relief goods, helped restore livelihoods by aiding abaca plantation cleanups, supported community gardening by distributing seeds, and offered permanent shelter assistance for indigent families. They also organized a medical and dental mission and initiated a \"cash for work\" program for residents of Barangay Puraran, giving the community essential resources and rebuilding opportunities in the wake of the disaster.

In 2022, Operation Compassion Philippines (OCP) focused on its mission to support emergency relief, community development, and protection for marginalized groups. They extended aid to 18 municipalities in Southern Leyte, continuing efforts from Typhoon Odette, and to 7 barangays in Baras, Catanduanes, following Typhoon Rolly. OCP also partnered with the Office of the Vice President for various pandemic and disaster responses, ultimately serving 59,561 individuals and 10,640 families across 49 barangays in 19 municipalities and 4 provinces.

This joint effort addressed the urgent needs of Internally Displaced People (IDPs) affected by the unrest of Mayon Volcano and focused on empowering a vulnerable community in Catanduanes through structured developmental initiatives.
